Home to the ill-fated Silver Bell colony, founded by the Borealis Republic in 2342, destroyed by an unknown aggressor (now believed to be the klicks) in 2489.
Stellar Bodies

- Hammer’s Star – a young, yellow G5 star
- Spes – now recolonised but suffering from the early stages of a runaway greenhouse effect as a result of the asteroid impact which wiped out the original Silver Bell
- Vallis Orbital Station – one of three drivesat relay stations in the Verge, and the furthest from the Stellar Ring
- Fides – thought to have been formed from an impact on Spes in the same way as Earth’s own moon
- Charitas – a captured asteroid
- Platon – an ice giant whose deep blue colour is caused by high concentrations of methane
- Arist – the 3rd and largest of 8 moons with a breathable if frosty atmosphere; home to recently-founded independent human and weren colonies
- Revik Belt – an unremarkable asteroid belt
- Psyche – the largest asteroid, with a diameter of 815km, serves as home to more than a dozen mining teams
- Iniad – a pale red titan, twice the size of Jupiter, whose enormous gravity well deserves respect; shepherds 21 cratered moons of rock and iron
- Vicek Belt – dense and chaotic, consisting of millions of asteroids, thousands of which display energy signatures
- Bruelt – a tiny planetoid 31AU distant which marks the system’s edge
- The Pit – a black hole that captured the entire system in a long elliptical orbit millions of year ago
Navigation Hazard: Mass transceivers (and mass detectors) do not function within Hammer’s Star. This is conjectured to be due to the gravimetric influence of the Pit, though the exact mechanism is yet to be determined. Radio- and laser-based communications are unaffected.
